Patch 7.11 of Final Fantasy 14, which went live on November 26, introduces the highly anticipated Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid to the game. This update not only marks the launch of the sixth Ultimate raid challenge but also brings adjustments to PVP Jobs and exciting new rewards for players who enjoy gathering achievements.
The Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid reimagines the Eden raid series from the Shadowbringers expansion. Its theme and design draw inspiration from Final Fantasy 8’s most potent Guardian Force. While Final Fantasy 8 has other nods within the Eden raids, the main storyline revolves around characters Ryne and Gaia. They embark on a mission to restore the elemental disharmony in The Empty, a desolate land devastated by the Flood of Light. Eden itself is a series of 12 raid encounters, featuring battles with different versions of Final Fantasy 14’s Primals like Titan and Shiva. The Savage mode of Eden’s twelfth level pits players against Gaia, who has taken on the identity of the Oracle of Darkness.
Although the Eden raids set a high bar during the Shadowbringers era, Patch 7.11 ups the ante for Final Fantasy 14 players with the introduction of Futures Rewritten (Ultimate). As per the patch notes, to even attempt this new raid, players must first clear The Arcadion’s fourth round on Savage difficulty. After this challenging feat, players will need to converse with the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal to unlock the game’s sixth Ultimate raid. Familiar adversaries from the Eden raid series, such as Fatebreaker, Shiva, and the Oracle of Darkness, make appearances in this formidable challenge. At the time of this writing, no teams have managed to clear it fully. Successful players in Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) can earn a prestigious new title and an Oracle Totem, which can be exchanged for a coveted Ultimate Edenmorn weapon of choice with a Viera NPC named Uah’shepya in Solution Nine.
In addition to the new raid, Patch 7.11 introduces several changes to PVP Jobs following the PVP overhaul in Patch 7.1. The Astrologian, Paladin, and Red Mage have received nerfs, whereas adjustments have been made to improve the Samurai, Machinist, and Viper. New rewards available for achievement certificates are also part of the update, with players able to claim them by visiting Jonathas in Old Gridania.
Looking ahead, more Job adjustments are anticipated with Patch 7.15, set for release on December 17. With the release of Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), fans are eager to see what Square Enix has up their sleeves for future raiding challenges in patches to come beyond Dawntrail.
With the launch of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.11, players are treated to an array of updates as outlined in the patch notes. New storyline chapters have been added to New Game+, particularly covering the prologue of Dawntrail’s Role Quests. Players interested in creating musical atmospheres within their in-game homes will also find new Orchestrion Rolls available.
In the realm of combat, the battle system welcomes the Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) raid. This new duty offers a narrative where the future, shaped by the efforts of two young women, is just one of countless possibilities—a tale spun by the wandering minstrel.
Only players who have already completed the challenging AAC Light-heavyweight M4 (Savage) can embark on this new adventure by meeting the Wandering Minstrel in Tuliyollal. Forming an eight-person party through the Raid Finder is the required step to enter Futures Rewritten (Ultimate).
Upon completing this Ultimate challenge, participants earn a reward once per week, which can be exchanged for ultimate Edenmorn weapons at Uah’shepya in Solution Nine. Notably, the reward eligibility resets every Tuesday.
Adjustments in PVP come with Season Twelve’s competitive play. The game developers took into account the win rates to strengthen struggling Jobs and balance overperformers. Alterations go beyond numerical tweaks, with Paladin’s offensive and defensive abilities seeing changes to sustain fair competition. Warrior, Monk, Samurai, Viper, Machinist, Black Mage, Summoner, Red Mage, Pictomancer, and Astrologian also undergo various updates to enhance playability and balance effectiveness in fights.
Patch 7.11 also rolls out new items, achievements, titles, and even sound effects for a refreshed in-game experience. The update resolves several issues that previously affected gameplay and adds novelty to the journey ahead for adventurers in Final Fantasy 14.
With known and resolved issues addressed and a look to upcoming patches, this update reflects Square Enix’s commitment to continual improvement and the delivery of thrilling content for the gaming community.
