Recently, our remake project has encountered a bit of a hiccup.
This week, we delve into our 1-900-103-4RFN offerings with an in-depth look at Death Wish 4 (00:00:26). It was intended to be just part of the introduction, but in true RFN fashion, it took on a life of its own.
We spent an unexpectedly long segment helping new listeners get familiar with our voices and names while updating everyone on Jon’s likely absence. After that, it was time for NEW BUSINESS! Greg provided a brief update on Mario & Luigi: Brothership before leading a discussion on the fresh NSO release: Donkey Kong Land (00:13:38). James returned with his characteristic wit to discuss the newly-released KUUKYOMI 4: Consider It (00:31:04). These games are getting trickier to dissect, since they’re similar, yet they still bring plenty of goofy fun. Guillaume shared his final musings on Trials of Mana (00:39:54), a game he found genuinely impressive. It’s also featured in the Nintendo Black Friday sale. However, he was less enthusiastic about the Amazon series Like a Dragon: Yakuza (00:45:43). Meanwhile, Jon has purchased Skyrim once more (01:05:01)—this time on PS5—and is actually playing it. He and James also discussed strategies for buying eShop and Xbox Live vouchers, as they’re gearing up for some serious gaming.
After the break, the team compiled a list of eight Nintendo DS games—two per person—to debate over as we choose our title for The Nintendo DS 20th Anniversary Retroactive (01:15:27). Curious about our choice? Tune in to find out.
Let’s keep the momentum going!
This episode received a fantastic edit from Guillaume Veillette. The “Men of Leisure” theme song, crafted exclusively for Radio Free Nintendo by Perry Burkum, adds a unique touch. You can find more of Perry’s work on his SoundCloud. Our Radio Free Nintendo logo, designed by Connor Strickland, offers a sleek look—check out his latest projects on his website.
For the show’s closing music, we have “More London Streets (Live)” from Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, composed by Tomohito Nishiura and selected by James. All rights remain with LEVEL-5 Inc.
