The Augmented World Expo, often abbreviated as AWE, isn’t just one of the oldest conferences dedicated to immersive technology—it’s also emerged as the key XR event on our yearly schedule.
Back in the early days, the XR community was buzzing with numerous industry conferences that attracted pioneers from this cutting-edge field. Big-name tech gatherings like CES, GDC, and E3 had their XR segments. Companies hosted their curated events like Oculus Connect and Unity’s Vision Summit. Grassroots meetups such as SVVR, VRLA, and many local gatherings worldwide planted the seeds of enduring networks among XR enthusiasts.
Although numerous of these events have faded into history, the connections and collaborations born at those gatherings persist. Among all the XR conferences I’ve attended, AWE USA stands out as the one capturing the essence and energy of those formative years.
Since I first set foot at AWE USA in 2018, I’ve witnessed its incredible growth with sessions, exhibitors, and networking opportunities becoming ever more exciting and valuable. It’s blossomed into what I now deem an essential event in the XR industry. Despite its expansion, it remains fueled by the same passion that once drove a fledgling community of innovators who envisioned the potential of immersive technology when it was all about kickstarters and adventurous meetups.
That’s why I’m thrilled to announce that Road to VR is the Premier Media Partner for AWE USA 2025. We’re not just covering it—from revealing engaging sessions and exhibitors in advance to partnering with AWE for exclusive giveaways and offering a 20% discount on tickets—we’re at the forefront of this landmark event. Super Early Bird All Access passes are up for grabs right now, so act fast if you want the best deal!
Mark your calendars: AWE USA 2025 is set to take place in Long Beach, California, from June 10th to 12th. It’s shaping up to be the grandest yet, with expectations for over 6,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors, 400 speakers, and a sprawling 150,000 square foot expo floor.
The event has long been a hub for intriguing sessions and diverse exhibitors, spanning the spectrum from industry titans to nimble startups. The ‘Playground’ section of the expo is a particularly unique spot where developers and creators showcase a multitude of immersive experiences—spanning games to art and everything in between.
The annual afterparty at AWE USA is another highlight, offering a vibrant scene to reconnect with old friends and forge new connections in this ever-evolving industry.
If we were to attend one conference in 2025, AWE USA would undoubtedly be it. We think it should top your list too!
