As we dive deeper into the life of the Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft’s console continues to build a solid game collection. Consoles typically hit their stride in the later years of their lifecycle—this is when developers can fully focus on creating experiences that take full advantage of the latest tech without the constraints of previous generations. While the Xbox Series X/S hasn’t quite reached this pinnacle yet, it’s steadily heading in that direction.
In recent years, the gaming world has been blessed with an array of outstanding titles, especially in the open-world genre. Games like "Elden Ring," "Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga," "A Plague Tale: Requiem," and "Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands" have marked 2022 as a year of diverse adventures. The following year kept up the pace with releases such as "Dead Space," "Street Fighter 6," "Hi-Fi Rush," "Remnant 2," "Forza Motorsport," and "Lies of P." As we look ahead, what are the most eagerly anticipated Xbox games? Which of them are slated for a 2024 release?
It’s worth noting that we’re focusing on the North American release dates for games on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, including any notable expansions.
As of November 27, 2024, the year is winding down, and the announcements for new games are slowing. Nevertheless, a few intriguing titles are lined up on the schedule. These include "Railroads Online," "Road Maintenance Simulator 2 – Winter Services," "Hunting Simulator 3," "Glitch Hero," "Penguin’s Road," "Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop," "Love Too Easily," and "Beat the Machine: Rebooted."
