As another season wraps up in the world of Pokémon Go, it begins in the most unexpected of ways: by plopping Sinistea right into the waters of Undella Bay.
Following last weekend’s Wild Area event, Pokémon Go fans are in for another thrilling experience with a unique Unovan twist. The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova has been revealed as the grand finale of a season dubbed “Dual Destinies,” centered around Unova. This event will have special, in-person gatherings scheduled in New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Los Angeles, California, set for February 22 and 23. For those unable to attend, a worldwide celebration will follow on March 1 and 2. It seems Europe misses out on the in-person fun, likely due to the European International Championship taking place the very same weekend.
This tour marks the third major in-person event hosted by Pokémon Go, following the successes in Las Vegas back in February 2023 and earlier this year in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area.
Tickets for the live events are already on sale, but don’t fret if you can’t make it in person—the global event will be mostly free for all to enjoy. For those looking to enhance their experience, there’s an optional purchase available for a comprehensive “Masterwork Research” storyline, which, upon completion, will reward players with a shiny version of the mythical Meloetta. This dazzling Pokémon was recently added via Pokémon Home.
While the basic details are up on the event’s website, more specifics, like which Pokémon will be available, are expected as the date approaches. Many anticipate that this event might just see the official debut of the Black 2 and White 2 box art versions of Kyurem. These versions briefly made an appearance last year before being swiftly removed in favor of Kyurem’s original form, leaving anticipation high for their return.
