Yesterday, Sony pulled back the curtain on the December 2024 PS Plus games lineup as part of the celebrations for PlayStation’s big 30th anniversary. However, the reveal hasn’t exactly wowed players. Adding to the discontent, next month’s Essential games selection includes a title that was already on PS Plus Extra earlier in the year and subsequently removed. This means quite a few members have already played it, which hasn’t sat well with the community.
Fans Think PS Plus Could Have Done Better with December Games for the 30th Anniversary
In the reveal, Sony announced that the December 2024 lineup comprises It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem. Notably, It Takes Two had been available on PS Plus Extra but was taken off earlier this year, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by subscribers.
Judging by the comments circulating on PS Blog, forums, and social media platforms, it’s not the games themselves causing a stir. Rather, players are disappointed by what they see as a lackluster selection for such a significant milestone. One disgruntled subscriber voiced, "This feels like the most corporate and indifferent attempt at celebrating an anniversary, especially a 30th, that I’ve seen." Another added, "Today’s lineup was so disappointing, I felt compelled to comment for the first time. I usually steer clear of complaints on blogs, but this one’s bad."
As for what’s coming down the pipeline, the complete PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup for December 2024 is still under wraps. Nevertheless, Premium users have been teased with the promise of three classic hits and a game trial, leaving a glimmer of hope for fans looking for a more noteworthy celebration.
