Elden Ring, the action-packed RPG, has now surpassed an impressive milestone, selling over 28.6 million copies worldwide.
This major achievement was announced by Bandai Namco, coinciding with the reveal of an exciting new multiplayer spin-off, Nightreign, during The Game Awards held last week. The sales figures reported reflect numbers up to the end of September.
Back in June, the official sales tally for Elden Ring was at 25 million copies. In just a few months, the game managed to sell an additional 3.6 million copies. This surge was likely fueled by a combination of strategic discounts and the highly-anticipated launch of the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion, which debuted over the summer.
According to Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners, who shared insights on Twitter, this accomplishment means that Elden Ring has sold more copies individually than the entire Dark Souls series combined. The beloved Dark Souls franchise, which started back in 2011, has sold 27 million copies to date.
