The much-anticipated COLD VR, which takes inspiration from the well-loved SUPERHOT VR released back in 2016, is gearing up for its debut on Quest and PC VR headsets next month. Fans eagerly awaiting the PSVR 2 version will have to hold on a bit longer, as its release is planned for sometime later.
SUPERHOT VR may have been around the block for a while, yet it remains a cherished title in the virtual reality gaming world. It’s surprising that more developers haven’t seized the opportunity to mimic its innovative time-manipulation gameplay. Enter COLD VR, which, while echoing SUPERHOT VR in spirit, introduces a new twist: speed. In this game, slowing down makes time speed up, meaning your enemies, smarter and more relentless than ever, won’t give you the luxury of overthinking your moves.
In an exciting development, ALLWARE recently revealed through a fresh trailer that they’ve partnered with Perp Games to bring COLD VR to Quest and PC VR headsets on January 21st, 2025. As for PSVR 2, the studios assure fans it is “coming later.”
Adding to the excitement, the game challenges players with not just increasingly intelligent enemy AI, but also various environmental hazards like deadly lasers and moving platforms. There are unexpected twists for those brave enough to explore the game’s depths, ALLWARE teases.
Carlos Alfonso from ALLWARE shares his enthusiasm, “Creating COLD VR has been an amazing experience. The fantastic support from Perp Games has allowed us to craft something truly special, where time itself becomes a gameplay element.” He continues, “Perp’s collaboration has been pivotal in making COLD VR accessible to a wider audience than I ever dreamed possible, bringing it to both PlayStation VR and Quest. I am beyond excited for what lies ahead!”
For those itching to get their hands on COLD VR, it’s now available for wishlist across platforms at the attractive price of $19.99 / £14.99 / €19.99. You can find it on the Horizon Store for Quest 2/3/Pro, Steam for PC VR headsets, and the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2.
