The anticipation was palpable as gamers eagerly stayed up late, their Xbox consoles humming well into the night. Then, without warning, a welcome alert popped up—a new system update was ready to download. Promising a host of fixes and exciting new features, it quickly rekindled everyone’s excitement to dive back into their favorite games and take on those in-game creatures.
Now, let’s hold onto our controllers for a quick and festive community update for all you Insiders out there! First off, the team extends their warmest wishes for a joyous holiday season and a wonderful start to the new year! Although the cold and early nights of winter might not be my favorite, they do provide the perfect excuse to cozy up in warm sweaters and enjoy some Xbox time indoors.
In line with past traditions, we’ve paused the rollout of preview builds on both console and PC to guarantee the best experience for everyone enjoying their Xbox over the holidays. However, rest assured that we’re still hard at work on future updates. Plus, we’re always reviewing your feedback and ready to tackle any issues that pop up. Remember to check the Insider Hub frequently for fresh content throughout December and January!
From Our Team to You
A heartfelt thank you goes out to each one of you for being an essential part of this incredible community. I can’t express enough how proud I am to be involved with the Xbox Insider Program. Your support and enthusiasm mean the world to us.
Before I wrap this up, I reached out to ask some of our team members what they’re up to when they’re not knee-deep in work this month. Whether it’s gaming, relaxing, or sharing random tidbits, here’s what they had to say:
Jon: Trying to finish Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and the Ode to Castlevania DLC for Vampire Survivors.
Joshua: Eager to rewatch classic holiday films and immerse myself in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Tim: Enjoys a challenge with Nine Sols and looking forward to spending quality time with family flying in from out of town.
Donovan: Can’t wait to dive into Path of Exile 2, cherish time with family, and enjoy nostalgic Christmas movies to boost the holiday spirit.
Sally: Planning to indulge in lots of cookies, play cozy games, and hoping for new PowerWash Simulator DLC. Of course, family and friends are a big part of the plan too.
Leland: I’ve got a unique tradition. I start a story-game, shelve it if I get hooked, and put it on my list, limited to just two. If a new game needs to take a spot, the current games must fight for their place (figuratively). Mid-December, I go into a full gaming retreat, immersing myself completely, which is something I eagerly await every year.
As for me, I finally completed the Black Ops 6 camo grind, so it feels like I can truly enjoy the game now. I also plan to finish the achievements for Aliens: Dark Descent and battle with Jack Frost to keep my geese’s pond from icing over again.
What are your plans? We’d love to know what you’re up to this December, be it gaming adventures or holiday plans. Join in on the discussion on our subreddit under the December Community update post—it’s stickied right at the top. I’ll be around throughout the month as ScantilyCloud, eager to chat and answer your questions. And don’t hesitate to share any 2024 game recommendations with us—we can always make room in our game backlog!
