The World of Assassination, known as the content hub for the latest Hitman trilogy, has drawn in over 75 million players so far.
IO Interactive, the brains behind the development and publishing, announced that in December 2024, the game had a staggering one million active players.
Originally released as Hitman 3 in 2021, World of Assassination was later revamped to encompass content from both the 2016 Hitman reboot and its 2017 follow-up.
“Hitman World of Assassination continues to thrive, largely due to its regular updates and a passionate community,” IO shared.
“As we gear up to introduce even more content in 2025, fans can look forward to countless more hours of engaging gameplay.”
In an exciting twist, IO recently added a mission where players are tasked with taking down iconic 80s and 90s action star Jean-Claude Van Damme. So far, 40 percent of players attempting this have succeeded in their mission.
