Hisashi Koinuma Appointed as CEO of Koei Tecmo

Koei Tecmo, a renowned gaming company from Japan, has announced the appointment of Hisashi Koinuma as its new CEO. Taking the helm on April 1st, 2025, Koinuma steps up from his former roles as COO, president, and general manager of the entertainment division.

In an interesting move, the company has also revealed plans to divide into two separate entities: Koei Tecmo Games and Koei Tecmo Corporate Finance. This strategic decision aligns with their overarching goal to rise as the world’s leading digital entertainment powerhouse, guided by their motto of “creativity and contribution.”

During a conversation with shareholders, the company emphasized, “We have been steadily paving the way for this transition to the next generation of management, thanks to discussions within our Nomination and Compensation Committee.” They further explained their decision, expressing, “To foster continued growth and enhance profitability, we’ve resolved to establish a new management structure for the 2025 fiscal year.”
