A No Man’s Sky enthusiast, known for their creative base-building skills, recently showcased an impressive raft house floating on one of the game’s newly introduced oceanic planets. Unfortunately, their creation fell victim to a known bug that affects builds on these unique planets. Fans of the game who are inspired to craft similar structures should be cautious, as this issue can cause their hard work to vanish unexpectedly.
In the latest free update for No Man’s Sky, titled Worlds Part 2, a variety of new features have been added, including ocean planets. These mesmerizing environments have long been on the community’s wishlist. They boast vast, dark ocean depths rich with aquatic life and valuable resources hidden beneath the waves. These captivating planets are located in newly added purple-class star systems, which become accessible once players have completed the main storyline and certain side missions.
The centerpiece of this story is a cozy wooden raft house built and shared by a player named WrastlingIsReal. Positioned gracefully on the tranquil surface of one of these deep sea planets, the raft house gives the illusion of floating on buoyant tanks, cleverly designed using resized gas cylinder props. The home prioritizes a warm, inviting atmosphere over industrial grandeur, fully decorated and furnished to replicate a snug retreat among the stars. The builder even provided galactic coordinate glyphs, allowing others to visit this remarkable creation through any portal structure.
However, the unfortunate discovery of a bug swiftly followed, leading to the disappearance of much of the raft house. This issue arises because the new ocean worlds don’t have genuinely deeper terrain; instead, they feature elevated water levels to simulate expansive oceans. On many of these planets, the water level is nearly on par with the player build height limit, causing bases to glitch and partially or wholly vanish.
Despite these setbacks, the community holds onto hope. Some speculate that these bases still exist in the game’s data but remain invisible until a solution is found. The developers at Hello Games are tirelessly addressing various bugs introduced in recent patches, and players are hopeful that a fix will eventually restore lost creations.
No Man’s Sky remains a vast and captivating sci-fi adventure, inviting players to lose themselves in a procedurally generated universe filled with endless possibilities. Whether exploring the far reaches of the galaxy, building sprawling bases, or engaging in space battles, the game offers a limitless playground for adventurers. As the game evolves with updates and fixes, the universe truly is yours to explore, filled with untold wonders and mysteries waiting to be uncovered.
