Currently, there’s no official announcement for Avowed making its way to PlayStation. However, there are mods out there for PC that allow you to experience a PlayStation vibe.
You’d think it’s only a matter of time before Avowed lands on the PlayStation, right? Phil Spencer, the head honcho over at Xbox, often talks about bringing their games to other platforms. If rumors are true and even Halo might soon appear on the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s hard to imagine Avowed not eventually finding a home on the PS5, even if it takes a year to happen. As things stand, Avowed is only available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. Both platforms perform well enough, but I’ve always found the PlayStation interface to feel more intuitive and comfortable.
Fortunately, when it comes to bridging this gap, modders are the unsung heroes. There’s already a nifty mod that swaps out the game’s controller UI with PlayStation button prompts. Whether you’re interacting with an object or planning a jump, the PlayStation layout is there to guide you. It’s a straightforward modification by modder NeuroticNinjah and it’s perfect for those who prefer a PlayStation controller on PC but want the button icons to match their setup.
But that’s not where the PlayStation makeover ends. Another mod by Chachinito transforms the Avowed splash screen into the PlayStation Studios logo. Although this tweak doesn’t change the gameplay itself, it adds a dash of playful defiance for PlayStation fans who find themselves begrudgingly aware of the game’s Xbox exclusivity.
We’ll have to wait and see if Avowed eventually comes to PlayStation before any potential DLCs or sequels surface. Given how slow these things can often be, there’s plenty of time for it to happen.
