In a recent discussion with shareholders, Nintendo emphasized the importance of exclusive games as they gear up for the launch of the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
These remarks came after an inquiry from a shareholder curious about the future of new game releases for the current Nintendo Switch once its successor arrived in stores.
Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, addressed this by stating, “We’ve already announced that Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are on schedule for a 2025 release on the Nintendo Switch. With so many gamers enjoying the Switch, we’re keen to continue developing engaging titles for it. However, launching new hardware, especially with exclusive games, is vital. So, we’re exploring ways for both the Nintendo Switch and its sequel to captivate a broad audience.”
For those eager to learn more about Nintendo’s upcoming console, a detailed presentation on Nintendo Switch 2 will air during a Nintendo Direct event. You can catch this broadcast at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
While the global release of the Nintendo Switch 2 is slated for 2025, the exact launch date is yet to be announced.
