According to recent updates, NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed that the release of the RTX 5060 series GPUs is facing a delay, with their launch now scheduled for a few weeks later than initially planned.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Faces April Release Setback, RTX 5060 Now Expected in May
Just ahead of the launch of the GeForce RTX 5070, we’ve received word about setbacks affecting the release of the RTX 5060 series. Initial rumors suggested we’d see these GPUs debut in March with availability in April. However, fresh reports indicate a further delay is now expected.
The exact reasons for this shift remain unclear, but sources from Board Channels have confirmed that all NVIDIA board partners are aware of these changes. While NVIDIA hasn’t made an official announcement regarding the RTX 5060 release, the growing consensus leans towards the credibility of these reports. Previously, we also heard whispers of bugs and supply chain hiccups potentially causing this delay, although NVIDIA hasn’t verified these claims.
In an internal email to all AIC partners, NVIDIA disclosed that the launch dates for the new RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 series have been pushed back. It’s been communicated that the RTX 5060 Ti 16G / 8G versions might be delayed until mid-April, while the RTX 5060 series is now expected in mid-May. Official timing will be confirmed later by NVIDIA.
Rumors now put the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti release around ‘mid-April’ and the GeForce RTX 5060 around ‘mid-May’. It’s anticipated that both versions of the RTX 5060 Ti will be released simultaneously. However, NVIDIA has yet to disclose the exact launch dates to its board partners.
Furthermore, there’s speculation that the RTX 5060 lineup could enter the market right alongside AMD’s upcoming RX 9060 series GPUs. AMD is gearing up to unveil its RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models, offering both 8 GB and 16 GB versions, which would compete directly with NVIDIA’s 8 GB and 16 GB RTX 5060 Ti cards. Though the launch dates for AMD’s RX 9060 series remain unconfirmed, a release in the second quarter seems likely.
On the tech front, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti aims to succeed the RTX 4060 Ti, packing 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a power consumption of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is set to replace the RTX 4060, bringing 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. There’s also buzz about an RTX 5060 with 12 GB VRAM surfacing in leaks, which, though not official yet, could give NVIDIA an edge over AMD’s RX 9060 that is rumored to stick to an 8 GB option.
