Yesterday, Bigscreen opened pre-orders for its eagerly awaited Beyond 2 PC VR headset, which promises enhanced clarity and a broader field-of-view thanks to its cutting-edge pancake lens design. The buzz around this new release is palpable, as Bigscreen announced that just 10 hours after sales began, Beyond 2 had already eclipsed the total sales of its predecessor, the original Beyond, by a significant margin.
On social media platform X, the company shared updates showcasing the impressive reception of Beyond 2 among PC VR fans. “In just the first 25 minutes, sales of Beyond 2 surpassed the entire first day sales of Beyond 1. Within an hour, we doubled what we achieved on Beyond 1’s launch day,” Bigscreen enthusiastically shared.
As the day unfolded, Bigscreen provided further insights into the sales performance of both Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking counterpart, Beyond 2e. And here’s a jaw-dropping statistic: “Within the first 10 hours of launch… Beyond 2 sales outstripped the first FOUR MONTHS of Beyond 1 sales.”
Currently, those looking to get their hands on Beyond 2 or Beyond 2e are seeing delivery dates quoted for June 2025, as the initial shipment slots for April and May have already sold out.
So, what’s driving the frenzy for Beyond 2? The anticipation might be largely fueled by the seamless upgrade opportunity offered by Bigscreen. Current Beyond 1 users can snag these new models at discounted prices—$849 for Beyond 2 and $1,049 for Beyond 2e. What’s more, these new headsets are compatible with many Beyond 1 accessories, like the custom facial interface.
Beyond 2 is bringing a new pancake lens design to the table, featuring a larger 116-degree diagonal FOV, an adjustable IPD mechanism, and a featherweight design at just 107g. The 2e model ups the ante with AI-driven eye-tracking. While both models maintain the dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from the first Beyond, the improved lenses offer superior clarity and a wider view compared to the original.
Pricing for Beyond 2 and 2e starts at $1,019 and $1,219 respectively, though Beyond 1 owners can enjoy a discount. Along with the headset, Bigscreen introduced a new halo-style mount and a Lightblocker facial interface, expected in Q3 2025.
All of these can be purchased directly through the Bigscreen website.
