An exciting new game called Anomaly is set to hit Meta Quest in early December, and fans of the genre are sure to be thrilled. Brought to you by Greensky Games, the creators behind Swarm and Swarm 2, Anomaly is the latest in extraction shooters, plunging players into a dystopian future set in 2050. Players will find themselves navigating through a haunting city that is divided into three unique levels. The mission? Compete against other squads and terrifying creatures, all in pursuit of securing a precious Artifact and making it out in one piece.
In Anomaly, players have the flexibility to tackle the challenges solo or team up with friends, forming squads of up to three. The mechanics follow the familiar extraction shooter blueprint: take down your adversaries, fend off AI-controlled enemies, gather as much loot as possible, and strive to survive. However, there’s a catch—if you meet your demise, you lose everything you’ve amassed during that round.
Peter Le Bek, the Founder of Greensky Games, shared his insights on the game’s inspiration, mentioning, “With Anomaly, we’re elevating what fans love about extraction shooters such as Escape from Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown. It’s more than just the action. We’re focusing on building an atmosphere full of suspense and excitement. It’s about the intense rush of making your escape and the looming threat of losing it all. Designed specifically for VR, Anomaly ensures each match has a unique rhythm, making you acutely aware of every breath, step, and choice with a level of immersion that conventional games just can’t provide.”
