ASRock’s Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards have made their way to the web, featuring the anticipated Steel Legend and Taichi custom designs.
Insight into ASRock’s Custom RX 9070 Series GPUs Before Their Official Rollout
It looks like ASRock is gearing up with a solid lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, particularly the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. So far, we haven’t caught a glimpse of "official" images from other AIB partners, but ASRock has broken the silence. Online, their GPUs have been showcased, highlighting three distinct models: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Taking a closer look at the Taichi series, it appears to be ASRock’s flagship model, boasting a sophisticated triple-fan setup paired with a sizable heatsink—hence its three-slot card design.
What’s particularly intriguing about the Taichi edition is its inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector, which won’t be standard across all models. AMD has given AIB partners the flexibility to choose this option based on specific power needs. This power connector is reported to handle up to 600W, indicating that the Taichi model is structured for strong specifications and great overclocking potential.
Next in line is the Steel Legend variant, which ASRock is positioning as a mid-range choice, offering both white and silver color schemes. This version also sports a 2.5-slot triple-fan architecture. However, unlike the Taichi, it doesn’t feature the 12V-2×6 connector; instead, it will utilize a more common 2x 8-pin configuration. This setup is expected to be the norm for AMD’s AIB models, with exceptions like the Taichi catering to higher-end specifications.
As for when these exciting models will be hitting the shelves, expectations point towards next week. That’s when AMD is rumored to kick off pre-orders for its RX 9070 series GPUs.
