Balatro, the poker-themed roguelike game, has impressively surpassed five million copies in sales. This exciting update comes straight from Harvey Elliott, the CEO of PlayStack, who shared the news with attendees at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2025. The milestone was also reported by PocketGamer.biz, a publication closely related to the gaming industry.
Back in December, the game had already sold 3.5 million units. Its fantastic journey in the indie game market received an extra boost after securing a big win at The Game Awards, which undoubtedly contributed to its continuing success.
“Selling five million units of any game is an incredible milestone worthy of celebration,” noted Elliott. He emphasized that achieving this within a year of launch, especially with a solo developer at the helm, makes this accomplishment even more remarkable.
Elliott expressed immense pride in the developer, LocalThunk, and the entire PlayStack team, acknowledging their collective efforts to ensure the game’s ongoing growth and success.
