Cyberpunk 2077, the ambitious sci-fi role-playing game, has hit an impressive milestone, selling over 30 million copies worldwide. This news comes from Piotr Nielubowicz, CD Projekt’s chief financial officer, reported by VGC, who detailed this achievement as part of the company’s financial results for the quarter ending in September.
In addition to the success of the base game, the Phantom Liberty expansion has also made waves, selling over eight million units so far. Looking ahead, fans can anticipate Cyberpunk 2077’s arrival on Mac devices soon, as well as a new animation project set in the Cyberpunk universe.
“I have some exciting news from Night City,” Nielubowicz shared. “Cyberpunk 2077 has surpassed 30 million copies sold, and the Phantom Liberty expansion has reached eight million units.”
“These figures are outstanding—they demonstrate not only the vast size of our fan community but also the widespread interest in the Cyberpunk universe. Both achievements are significant for us, especially since we recently announced the game and its expansion are planned for release on Mac devices with Apple Silicon chips next year.”
Nielubowicz continued, “I’m also thrilled to share that we’re developing another animation project within the Cyberpunk world, which will be available on Netflix.”
With these announcements, it’s clear CD Projekt has big ambitions for the future of the Cyberpunk franchise.
