Today, January 16, EA Sports FC 25 has rolled out a new update, coinciding with the announcement of this year’s Team of the Year squads, and there’s not a whisper of other major news in the gaming universe.
If you voted for the Ultimate Team’s Teams of the Year last week, fingers crossed your picks made the cut. Either way, EA has certainly given you a solid reason to dive back into FC 25.
You can check out the finalized Team of the Year (TOTY) lineups for both men and women in the visuals shared on Twitter. The graphics are pretty thorough, so I’ll spare you the exhaustive list of players. But if you’re curious, you can easily find that information there.
These exclusive cards are slated to start appearing in the game on January 17, with attackers being the first to hit the field. Midfielders will follow on January 19, and defenders alongside goalkeepers will join on January 21. The complete TOTY roster will be seamlessly integrated into the Ultimate Team lineup from January 23 to January 31. Also, expect a 12th player addition for both men and women on January 24 to keep it even.
In addition, EA has released a notable update for FC 25 today aimed at refreshing gameplay. As EA puts it, this overhaul is “the most significant mid-season gameplay update we’ve ever done, based on your feedback.” So, no pressure there at all!
For those intrigued by the nitty-gritty of this update, here’s a quick summary of the main changes:
– Major enhancements to core gameplay elements such as passing, shooting, goalkeeping, and defending.
– Resolved issues where defenders would frequently catch up to dribblers unfairly.
– A more dynamic offensive flow, allowing smoother ball movement.
– Fewer tacklebacks and smarter AI in interceptions.
