Capcom has announced that its eagerly awaited action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro right from launch day. Scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, the game will come with an update on its first day that includes these enhancements. While Capcom hasn’t provided in-depth specifics about these upgrades, they have revealed the target graphics and resolution for the consoles.
Monster Hunter Wilds Steps into the PS5 Pro Enhanced Arena
In a community update leading up to the launch, Capcom revealed that the standard PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will come with two distinct modes: ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate’. If you choose the graphics-focused mode, you can expect output/rendering resolutions of 3840 x 2160 and 3072 x 1728 at 30 frames per second. Meanwhile, the framerate-focused option will provide 3840 x 2160 and 1920 x 1080 resolutions at a smooth 60 frames per second.
In a post on X, Capcom shared that they’re actively addressing the rendering issues encountered during the Open Beta Test, ensuring that steady improvements are being implemented as the launch approaches.
Interestingly, this reassurance follows some concerns raised during the game’s open beta regarding its performance, particularly on the PC version which faced significant issues.
This isn’t the first time Capcom has faced challenges with PS5 performance. They had a tough time smoothing out the PS5 performance issues with Dragon’s Dogma 2, and the PS5 Pro patch for that game wasn’t exactly up to par. Thankfully, with Monster Hunter Wilds, it seems Capcom is taking proactive steps by working on the PS5 Pro patch ahead of the launch, which provides the development team with ample time to iron out any potential problems.
