HOOP-O Studios, an exciting new indie developer, is gearing up to bring a fresh mixed reality experience to gamers with their latest project, Alex and the Jets. This remote-controlled dogfighting game is set to soar onto the Quest 3 platform next month.
In this fun and casual arcade flyer, players step into the whirlwind world of Alex the Squirrel, piloting a small propeller plane. As you take to the skies, you’ll find yourself up against ‘The Jets’ gang, rival aerial foes that appear via portals around your virtual space. It’s up to you to take them down while zipping through donut-shaped goals that not only challenge your flying skills but reward you with weapon upgrades and health boosts.
But it’s not all high-octane combat. For those who enjoy a more relaxed experience, the game features a free roam mode. Here, you can leisurely explore your surroundings without the pressure of enemy encounters. Plus, the inclusion of local leaderboards means you can keep tabs on how you stack up against friends. Furthermore, the in-game store offers an array of cosmetics, allowing you to personalize Alex’s look with different outfits.
What’s more, HOOP-O Studios emphasizes the authenticity of their trailer, which showcases gameplay recorded directly through the headset’s camera. This level of transparency gives a glimpse into the immersive experience they are crafting.
Alex and the Jets doesn’t have a specific release date pinned down just yet, but the studio is eyeing an April debut on the Horizon Store. The game will be available for Quest 3 and Quest 3S users, promising an engaging new addition to your VR library.
