In the intriguing world of Synth Beasts, you embody a runaway experiment known as a “Synth.” Your adventure begins as you escape from the confines of a lab on a mysterious island. As you traverse the neighboring archipelago, you’ll encounter other Synths—though, not all of them are hospitable. By overcoming these foes in battle, you unlock them as playable characters, gaining valuable new abilities that enhance both your combat skills and world exploration.
As you engage in battles, your Synths earn experience points that help them level up. Each Synth boasts five unique levels of progression, each offering distinct advantages. As they advance, it becomes progressively more challenging to gain experience, so it’s wise to rotate your team members. By doing so, you can power up your abilities effectively and discover new strategies.
Take, for instance, the “Psitek” Synth. Initially, it can light torches—quite handy from the get-go. By reaching level three, it can destroy incoming projectiles with a fiery slash, an asset in certain dungeons. However, beyond this point, its progression leans heavily on enhancing combat. Therefore, strategically switching to another Synth can be beneficial for discovering new abilities without the heavy XP investment!
Early on, you’ll acquire an old scientists’ boat, your ticket to navigating the sprawling Genesis Archipelago. Here, numerous smaller islands hide treasures like extra hearts, stat-boosting items, and currency for shops. If you’re not one to explore every nook, you can skip straight to the main islands to confront the scientists and bring down their nefarious establishments.
While these primary islands harbor boss Synths, many optional locations also house them. Capturing the more than 40 Synths available is no easy task, but the Genesis Archipelago is packed with rewards for the determined adventurer!
