Recently, Intel had everyone buzzing about the anticipated release of their Battlemage architecture, slated for around mid-December. With this timeline now in view, curiosity has shifted towards Intel’s long-term strategy in the competitive desktop GPU space. Concerns stem largely from Intel’s previous lukewarm GPU endeavors and its overall slow business pace. However, according to a well-known leaker on Twitter, @jaykihn0, Intel’s upcoming Celestial and Druid GPU series are steadily on course.
The leaker clarified in subsequent tweets that Intel isn’t just focused on maintaining momentum with its desktop GPUs. The company is also committed to ramping up its laptop integrated GPUs to compete robustly with desktop models. This dual approach indicates Intel’s intention to prioritize mobile GPUs while still advancing its discrete GPU offerings, ensuring a strong market presence across different segments.
Intel’s Celestial series will succeed the Battlemage and is expected to feature the “Xe3” architecture, though specific details are still under wraps. Similarly, the Druid lineup promises to introduce the “Xe-Next” architecture, preparing to square off against future competitors expected two generations ahead.
