Christopher Judge, the voice and figure behind Kratos, recently sparked quite a buzz with what many perceived to be a hint at a forthcoming God of War announcement. However, it turns out there isn’t one on the horizon.
It’s surprising to think that God of War Ragnarok has already been part of our lives for a couple of years. Naturally, fans of the franchise are becoming curious about when Santa Monica Studio might drop their next bombshell. While there’s been no official communication, the hype mill took a wild spin when Christopher Judge went live on Instagram recently. His words seemed to promise some juicy announcements arriving in the coming weeks, with a particular focus on December 1. “The next two weeks are gonna be chock-full of announcements and all kinds of good stuff,” he mentioned, raising expectations by adding, “December 1st, we will be making a major announcement – which I can’t wait to do ’cause a lot of you asked me: ‘What’s coming next?'”
The gaming community, keen as ever, quickly jumped to the conclusion that Sony had something in store regarding God of War, even though Judge didn’t actually mention the game by name. Yet, following the spread of these speculations, Judge himself took to Twitter to set the record straight. Responding to a tweet discussing his earlier comments, he cleared the air with a firm denial: “Absolutely not true! You can’t tease something you know nothing about. I will be making announcements in the near future,” he wrote, making it crystal clear, “I can guarantee none of them will be about OUR beloved God of War. I am awaiting updates just like everyone else.”
So, there are indeed some updates coming soon from Judge, but they’re unrelated to Kratos and his epic sagas. While Judge’s admirers might find these forthcoming announcements exciting, fans eager for new God of War content will have to remain patient. In the meantime, dusting off your favorite God of War title and diving back into its mythic adventures might be the best move—unless you’d rather not listen to unsolicited advice.
