COLD VR was gearing up to make a splash today as the anticipated spiritual follow-up to the hit game Superhot VR. However, fans will have to hang tight just a bit longer. Developer ALLWARE and publisher Perp Games have decided that the game needs some additional tweaks to be just right.
Originally set to make its debut on January 21st, COLD VR will first arrive on Quest and PC VR headsets, with a promise to land on PSVR 2 sometime later. The developers are now saying the wait will extend by “a week or two,” and they plan to keep us in the loop with updates showcasing the game’s performance on Quest.
The announcement, shared on X by Perp Games, emphasized that the team needs extra time for polishing. They’re dedicated to ensuring the game meets their vision before it hits virtual shelves.
Much like Superhot VR, COLD VR focuses on the intriguing interplay between time and movement. But here’s the twist: instead of time only moving when you move, in COLD VR, time speeds up when you’re standing still. This means players need to stay on their toes—taking a pause might just get you into a tight spot as the AI ramps up its speed when you’re stationary.
If you’re eagerly awaiting its release, there’s a silver lining. You can go ahead and add COLD VR to your wishlist across various platforms. It’s listed at $20 and available on the Horizon Store for Quest 2/3/Pro, Steam for PC VR headsets, and the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2. Keep those headsets ready for when this thrilling VR experience finally drops!
