In this classic sequel, players take on the roles of Diddy and Dixie Kong, navigating through 40 action-packed levels as they strive to rescue Donkey Kong from the villainous Kaptain K. Rool. The storyline offers a streamlined version of its SNES counterpart, focusing on the demand for the Kongs’ prized banana stash as ransom for Donkey Kong’s release.
Notably, just a week after Donkey Kong Land’s addition to the Game Boy app, subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online have another gem to explore. Nintendo announced this update with a captivating 44-second gameplay trailer showcasing the abilities of Diddy and Dixie. While Diddy impresses with swift cartwheels, Dixie dazzles with her ponytail for gliding and grabbing items. Players can enjoy these adventures using the Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Boy Color visual filters. Accessing the game requires an online connection to ensure the Game Boy app updates automatically for subscribers.
If needed, players can also update the app manually through the Options menu by selecting Software Update and then choosing Update via Internet.
