Walkabout Mini Golf is about to undergo a significant change: starting May 1, the game’s price will jump to $25, and six DLC courses will be merged into the base game. This marks a $10 increase from its current price of $15, and it’s happening in just under a month.
When the price goes up, the following six DLC courses, each of which currently sells for $4, will be included in the game at no additional cost. Normally, these six courses would set you back a total of $24. But come May 1, they’ll be bundled with the main game, free for anyone who already owns Walkabout Mini Golf and for new buyers alike.
For those who are members of Quest+ and PlayStation Plus, you’re in luck because these extras will be included in those subscription catalogs as well. However, it’s still unclear whether players who have already paid for these DLCs will be getting any sort of reimbursement.
Mighty Coconut, the game’s developer, explains that this decision was driven by the fact that the number of DLC courses was starting to overshadow the original content of the game. With this change, new players will immediately have access to some of the most recent and high-quality courses available.
In their own words, “We’re proud to be entirely player-funded and independent, without outside investors, publishers, or a parent company. Every dollar from game and DLC sales directly supports further development. Our sole aim is to stay balanced: ensuring our staff are well-paid and happy—while consistently delivering top-notch content to you, our players. Your support has been crucial to our journey, and we deeply appreciate you spending time in the worlds we’ve created.”
Looking forward, you can still expect future DLC courses to hit the shelves at the same $4 price point. For now, there are no plans to alter the pricing of upcoming DLCs.
