This time around, however, billbil-kun didn’t have the exact launch date in their back pocket. They did mention, though, that the price tag for the black model will mirror that of the original white version. Launching about a year ago, the handheld was initially available only in white to match the PS5. Up until now, the only variation offered was a special edition in gray for the PlayStation’s 30th anniversary, which was quite limited.
In essence, this marks the first time the PS Portal will sport a new hue. Though the reason behind Sony’s choice to roll it out in restricted quantities remains uncertain, billbil-kun hints that restocking will depend on consumer demand, implying Sony wants to play it safe and avoid surplus production.
As far as where you can get your hands on it, the report indicates that this black version will be available worldwide.
