Skyrim has seen its fair share of massive quest mods, yet one that already captivated players with a realistic epidemic simulation has recently received an expansive update. “Death Consumes All,” which drew inspiration from the captivating Hearts of Stone DLC from The Witcher 3, just got even grander.
You might recall the original “Death Consumes All” release in 2020. It’s garnered over 100,000 downloads on Nexus Mods, thanks to its 10-hour branching questline, fully voiced, and the brilliant craftsmanship of its creator, Anbeegod. The community’s reaction? A collective nod of approval and a resounding ‘Count us in!’
From then on, Anbeegod has been tirelessly revamping the mod, nearly tripling the main questline’s length to around 30 hours. This updated iteration, dubbed ‘Death Consumes All – DLC Quest Mod (Revamped)’, has just been unveiled for the gaming world to relish.
Sticking to the initial story, the updated mod still features a terrifying plague spreading across Skyrim, mimicking real-world epidemics’ insidious nature. As doom threatens to blanket the land with undead horrors, players, alongside the companion Livia Salvian, must tackle formidable foes, unravel the mystery, and ultimately decide the fate of the realm.
But don’t let the familiarity fool you; Anbeegod has been busy. The reworked version promises a completely enhanced experience with improved quest narratives, storytelling, and writing. There are now “over 17” quests, inclusive of a new introductory adventure. Not to mention, the voice acting has seen substantial improvements, with an additional 1,000 lines enhancing the immersion.
Players now have the handy option to “toggle off the plague,” a feature that could have truly made a difference in the 14th century. Furthermore, adjustments have been made to refine battle dynamics, ensure better balance, and reduce the likelihood of bugs or conflicts with other mods.
For those brave enough to embark on this 30-hour dark journey, prepare yourself for a gritty, undead-challenging adventure as your Dragonborn faces yet another apocalypse. Additionally, Anbeegod’s commitment to sharing “50% of this mod’s donation points with Doctors Without Borders to combat real-life epidemics” is a commendable gesture – talk about gaming with a purpose!
