Just as the new TV adaptation hits our screens, Sony and Naughty Dog have unveiled The Last of Us Complete, bringing together both The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 for the PlayStation 5. This latest edition is perfect for newcomers and dedicated fans alike, offering a comprehensive package of the critically acclaimed series.
Is This Really the Last We’ll See of The Last of Us?
You can grab The Last of Us Complete digitally from the PlayStation Store. It combines both titles along with their downloadable content, such as the Left Behind prequel from Part 1 and the Lost Levels add-on from Part 2. If you’ve somehow managed to own a PS5 without these iconic games, the bundle can be yours for $99.99.
Naughty Dog’s creative director, Neil Druckmann, shared on the PlayStation Blog, “The complete experiences of Part I and Part II Remastered are the definitive ways to play each of these games. Our team rebuilt The Last of Us Part I from the ground up with PS5 in mind, bringing full DualSense compatibility, 3D audio, and more. The remastered sequel offers an enhanced experience with behind-the-scenes commentary, plus extras like Lost Levels and Guitar Free Play.”
Collectors, rejoice! A physical release of The Last of Us Complete is slated for July 10. Here’s what you’ll find in the physical Collector’s Edition, available for preorder exclusively on PlayStation Direct:
- A Steelbook® Case featuring physical discs of both The Last of Us Part I and Part II Remastered
- The Left Behind prequel chapter
- The Last of Us: American Dreams Comics #1-#4 with brand-new cover art
- A set of four lithographic art prints
- A heartfelt thank you letter from Neil Druckmann
So, are we really saying farewell to The Last of Us? Druckmann recently hinted that we shouldn’t count on more installments anytime soon. Paired with this repackaging being labeled as the "complete" story, it seems that Naughty Dog is closing the chapter on its haunting and beloved post-apocalyptic saga, at least for now.
