Attention all Yellowjackets enthusiasts! The third season is finally on the horizon, and its release timing couldn’t be more intriguingly appropriate.
Ever since the gripping second season concluded in early 2023, fans have been on the edge of their seats, eager for what’s next. However, delays were inevitable due to last year’s industry disruptions—it’s understandable. Earlier this year, there was some buzz around casting news that should delight Community fans, and now, Showtime has finally nailed down a premiere date: February 14th next year. That’s right, Valentine’s Day. The irony isn’t lost on me given the show’s cannibalistic undertones. Who said there’s nothing romantic about sharing a meal with—or of—your closest friends? Certainly not I!
For those not yet acquainted with Yellowjackets, here’s a quick rundown: the show chronicles the story of a high school girls’ soccer team brimming with talent, who find themselves stranded after a plane crash in a remote northern wilderness. As they struggle for survival, they evolve from a cohesive team to divided tribes. Simultaneously, the series follows their lives nearly 25 years after the crash, illustrating that the past is never truly left behind—and what began in the wilderness is far from over.
There’s a teaser lurking around for the upcoming season, although it doesn’t give away much. But there’s excitement in the air with the addition of Joel McHale and Hilary Swank to the cast, alongside the return of favorites from the first two seasons. Let’s hope both new additions manage to stick around for a while! This thrilling season will be available on Paramount+ with Showtime’s plan starting February 14, and will make its way to traditional broadcast on February 16. International fans, fret not—you too can catch the action on Paramount+.
