Winking Studios, a leading Asian triple-A outsourcing company, has recently acquired China’s Mineloader. This deal is valued at approximately £16.3 million or $19.87 million. Of this amount, $14.7 million is an upfront payment, with the rest spread out over five years, depending on Mineloader’s ability to meet certain performance targets.
Mineloader, established in 2003, is a developer that specializes in art outsourcing. Johnny Jan, the CEO and founder of Winking Studios, remarked, “This is our largest acquisition to date and it marks a significant milestone for us as it strengthens our position in the global video game industry. It opens up exciting opportunities for growth and innovation.”
He continued, “Game art plays a crucial role in the development of a video game. It lays the visual groundwork and brings the creative spark that captures players’ attention and enriches their gaming journey. With Mineloader’s solid track record and expertise in game art production, their team of over 460 employees will complement our current team of more than 800. This acquisition will enhance our capabilities in this area and help us attract new clients. Additionally, Mineloader’s established foothold in the Japanese market adds significant value to our business relationships.”
