Rebellion is gearing up to launch the first VR game for the Zombie Army series, set to roll out its cooperative campaign across all major VR platforms next month.
Mark your calendars for May 22nd, as Zombie Army VR lands on Quest 2, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets. This new installment promises to bring the franchise’s signature zombie-slaying chaos to virtual reality, recruiting you as a member of the Deadhunters, an elite group determined to put an end to the undead apocalypse.
“Fight through swarms of the undead in the ruins of Nuremberg to assist Captain Hermann Wolff—the storied leader of the Deadhunters—in his quest to reunite with his family and liberate Europe from zombified doom,” Rebellion shares.
This adventure pledges a “full-length, story-driven campaign,” which you can tackle alone or with a buddy in two-player co-op mode. True to the franchise’s roots, expect a carefully curated selection of World War II-era weapons, from sniper rifles to submachine guns and pistols—you’ll even be able to wield two at once and manually reload them for that authentic feel.
As you progress, you’ll earn XP to level up your Deadhunter and utilize Weapon Upgrade kits to enhance your firearms’ range, accuracy, scope, and capacity.
Prepare to face more than just your run-of-the-mill Nazi zombies. The game brings back fan-favorite foes like Armored Giants, Suiciders, and Sniper Zombies. In addition, the X-ray Kill Cam feature—a highlight from Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR (2021)—returns to let you savor those long-distance headshots in breathtaking slow motion.
Zombie Army VR is available for pre-order now on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and Steam for PC VR setups. For a limited time, you can snag it at a 10% discount off its usual $30 price.
